The Advocacy for Native Adoptees is an non-profit organization responsive
to the needs of First Nations peoples, who as children were removed from their
community and adopted or put in foster care in non-Native homes. We are committed to helping
Native adoptees overcome personal identity crises, rediscovering their roots,
and building links with their original community.

Association of BC First Nations Treatment Programs
This association was incorporated in 1998 and consists of the 11 First Nations treatment centres/programs situated throughout the province of BC. 9 offering residential treatment and 2 offering outpatient treatment for substance abuse. The members meet quarterly to discuss issues, concerns,new developments surrounding addictions as well as act as a support network to each other.

Avataq Cultural Institute
Non-profit organisation created by the Inuit of Nunavik (Labrador
peninsula) to protect and promote their traditional culture. The programmes include
archaeology, oral history, place names, genealogy, etc. The site also present a sample of the
Inuit art collection that was donated to the Institute by the Department of Indian Affairs and
the North, Canada.

National in scope, BEAHR (Building Environmental Aboriginal Human Resources) took on the important task of increasing Aboriginal employment in the environment sector.
