Indian Affairs Annual Reports 1864 - 1990
The Indian Affairs Annual Reports collection was first issued on CD-ROM in 1997. Through a cooperative effort between the former National Library of Canada and the Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development, the full text of these annual reports is now available on the Web. We hope that users will find the reports a rich resource for historical research. The Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development was created in 1966. The Indian Affairs Annual Reports (1864-1990) collection contains the complete annual reports for the department from 1967 to 1990. In 1991 the departmental annual report was integrated into the Estimates Part III (which now includes the Report on Plans and Priorities and the Performance Report) and the Public Accounts.

Native Residential Schools in Canada: A Selective Bibliography - Library and Archives Canada
This bibliography accompanies the exhibition Where are the Children? Healing the Legacy of the Residential Schools produced by the National Archives of Canada, the Aboriginal Healing Foundation and the Aboriginal Healing Charitable Association in collaboration with the National Library of Canada, numerous church and other archives presented at the National Archives of Canada in Ottawa from June 18, 2002 to February 3, 2003. The type of materials listed in this bibliography include books, scholarly articles, school histories, personal accounts, theses, videos, and Internet resources. Please note that we would also like to acknowledge the incredible amount of coverage on the topic of residential schools by Native newspapers and periodicals, many of which are available at the National Library and some of which are listed herein. The scope of the bibliography, particularly more recent publications, suggests the vast impact that residential schools have had on the Aboriginal peoples of Canada. Themes of the bibliography range from the injustices of abuses and enforced hardship to reconciliation and restitution. It is our hope that this bibliography enhances the exhibition in a meaningful way.

Telehealth - First Nations & Inuit Health
For many First Nations and Inuit communities, the nearest hospital, doctor or nurse may be hundreds of kilometres away. In many cases, this gap can be bridged using telehealth - technology that allows patients, nurses and doctors to talk as if they were in the same room. In Canada, the telehealth strategy is to use information and communications technologies in order to improve access to our universal health care system.
