British Columbia Institute of Technology - Aboriginal Services
Aboriginal Services department assists peoples of Status Indian, Non-Status Indian, Métis, and Inuit ancestry. Our department works closely with BCIT staff, students, and communities to enhance Aboriginal learner’s participation and success rate in polytechnic training. Each term we have approximately 300 Aboriginal students attending our trade and technology programs; with 20 professional Aboriginal staff members that specialize in teaching, program development, advising, and services.

Cree School Board
The Cree School Board (Eeyou Chiskotamachaoun) was established by the signing of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement in 1975. This establishment allowed them to seize control of their education and the protection of their language, culture and pursuits. The Cree School Board ensures that each student has the opportunity to develop to his or her full potential as an individual and as a member of society. The Cree language and culture are at the root of the Cree educational system.
